Ron is a native Oregonian and has worked as a U S forest service engineer, Deputy sheriff, school teacher, and has retired from the Oregon Army National Guards as a Major after 28 years of service.

Ron started working in the automotive repair and tire industry in 1978 when he Co-owned and operated four tire and automotive repair shops in Hood River, The Dalles, Madras, and Redmond, Oregon. In 1985, Ron co-owned the B F Goodrich Tire Center in downtown Portland. In 1994, Ron opened Tanner's Automotive and Tire in the Stark St location and in 2001 opened Tanner's A-1 Automotive and Tire on 82nd Ave.

Ron has grown his businesses with the philosophy of treating all customers the way he would like to be treated if he were the customer. Ron strives to provide superior quality work and be a full service repair shop for domestic and import cars and light trucks. He wants to be your "one-stop shop". In his spare time, you can find Ron in one of his racecars racing somewhere in the northwest.

Chris started at Tanner's A-1 Automotive in 2003 and brought 21 years of experience in automotive repairs and tires. He is ASE certified as a master technician in advanced engine performance repair and diagnostics, air conditioning, and most all phases of automotive repair.

Chris is the lead technician in the shop and often fills in as shop manger in Ron's absence. He is committed to customer satisfaction and strives to give the customer quality work at a competitive price.

Chris is single and enjoys racing motorcycles, and is an avid paintball enthusiast. He also enjoys camping with his two dogs.

Joyce has been with Tanner’s Automotive since 1994, as a bookkeeper, doing the books from the home office. As the business has grown she has become more involved in the everyday operations.

You can find her writing up repair orders, answering the phone, making coffee, or keeping you informed on the status of your vehicle. You'll find Joyce’s warm personality at the 82nd Ave store Monday thru Friday.

In her spare time she enjoys working in her flower gardens and assisting Ron around the Northwest as crew chief of the Tanner’s Automotive Racing Team.
